WTC NOT Designed For Boeing 767 Strike
Boeing 767 Three Times More Massive than Boeing 737
Many 9/11 conspiracy nuts try to argue that the World Trade Center Twin Towers were designed to withstand a collision from an aircraft as big as a Boeing 737. They falsely compare a Boeing 737 as being "about the same size" as a Boeing 767, when in fact a Boeing 767 has 3 times the mass.
First, the TITANIC was designed to be unsinkable.
So why did the Titanic sink? It was "designed" not to. Did the "design" control the situation? Or did it sink in spite of the design?
Second, this was never tested. So it is meaningless what the WTC was "designed" for. No test was ever conducted to see if the buildings could or could not withstand an aircraft impact.
Third, the WTC Twin Towers were badly damaged in 1993 when Muslim militants set off a massive truck bomb in the basement. This bomb was designed to bring the towers down.
The 1993 bomb was "DESIGNED" to bring the Twin Towers down completely. Yet in spite of this "design" of the bomb, the Twin Towers not fall down in 1993
However, the bomb in 1993 was so substantial that it badly damaged the structure of the Twin Towers. By the time 2001 rolls around, the Twin Towers were no longer up to their original strength as designed.
Fourth, the World Trade Center was NOT designed to withstand any airplane "at full throttle."
The WTC Twin Towers were designed to withstand a SLOW-MOVING Boeing 737, on the assumption that a plane landing or taking off at nearby LaGuardia Airport might get lost in the fog.
Fifth, the World Trade Center Twin Towers were designed to withstand a Boeing 737 much smaller than a Boeing 767, moving slowly near the airports.

So the Boeing 767's that hit the WTC were MORE THAN 3 TIMES AS HEAVY
as the Boeing 737 considered during the design of the WTC in the 1960's.
Kinetic energy is a function of the SQUARE of velocity. Therefore, the amount of kinetic energy with which the airplanes on
9/11 hit the Twin Towers was actually (450,000 pounds / 145,500
pounds) * (540 MPH / 125 MPH) *
(540 MPH / 125 MPH)= 57.5 times the amount of kinetic energy
as what was contemplated during the design of the WTC.
The idea was never tested. It is unknown whether the "design" ever had any reality to it whatsoever.
However, the "design" never included the explosion of jet fuel followed by a 1 hour / 1.5 hour fire without any fire fighting.
